Through my life, there have been quotes/thoughts from famous authors that have inspired me. Do you have a special quote that has inspired through your life or part of it?
In my case, one of them is: Everything happens for a reason. This quote has been my motto, especially in those times when I don't find an explanation for things. There have been times in my life when the most unexpected things have happened, some of them even bad. When I was young, I used to question the bad things that happened to me, and asking myself why...? With the time I learned that things that seem bad at the beginning turned out to be something good.
Everything happens for a reason, maybe we don't understand why something is happening to us, probably we think we don't deserve it; but as time goes by, things become clearer, and you realize why this happened to you. I certainly believe that what matters the most is to learn from the good things and bad things that happen to us.
We are in this world to become better people, and learn new things every single day. As a teacher in this course, I have learned some things, that I hope they make me a better teacher. I have learned that I have to make sure to convey the message appropriately, so there are no misunderstandings. I have to give clear instructions about a task I assign; probably through this course I will learn more things. Everything happens for a reason, even a misunderstanding, but what matters the most is what we do with that experience: we learn from it or we let it go unnoticed.

I came across Antoine De Saint-Exupery when in Elementary school; I was assigned to read his novel The Little Prince. It got my attention from the very beginning with the funny drawings and the sort of complicated language for my short age. But it was not until I read the following two quotes that I felt fully in love with his written work: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye”, and “Life has meaning only if one barters it day by day for something other than itself.” At first, they made not much sense to me; nevertheless, as I was growing up those two quotes showed me a new path and gave my life a different sense. Those short words taught me that no matter neither what nor who, what I should really care about was not that something I could easily look at with eyes wide open but those little details you get to discover and understand if you are sympathetic and empathic. It somewhat helped me a lot on gaining patience and learning that one should not judge the label but the content itself. Life was not meant to be easy, not at all. But being up to the challenge, looking at each day as a new different chapter, and willing to live to the fullest is enough to laugh at adversity and accept that in fact, things happen for a reason but it is in us the opportunity to accept them and get the best out of them. In the long run, some other quotes have made me think over but these two will always take part on my beliefs, thoughts, and decisions.

ReplyDeleteThe most inspirational quote or thought was one that I read in the book El Alquimista, that was:
"The entire universe conspires to make your dreams a reality"
I think that´s true, because something like that happened to me.
I had a dream, and I thought it was impossible, but suddenly, started to happen many things that helped me to fulfill my dream: a contact of my mother, an offer of job, etc...
All happen because have happen. Always my mom told me this though. I belive in this thought because I think and feel that all that happen in our live happen and so have happen because that is the destiny and that want our God for us. All is part of his deity and his design. I believe a lot in my God, he is the middle of my life and without him I can't live. I thought this because to me was happen something very delicate in my life and when I share my bad experience with someone, everybody told me the same "God provide" and is a really truth because currently all in my life is better.

ReplyDeleteSince I was a child, since I remember, my mother has told me that. And I grew up with that thought and I put it in practice every day of my life, if I have any problem or obstacle I’m sure that God is guiding my way and giving to me strength to think and act with clarity.
So no matter who wants to make you feel bad, if you trust in God no one and nothing can hurt you.
“Rely on God and He will please the wishes of your heart.” When I heard this quote, I said “wonderful”. I never imagined that this quote would help me feel calmer.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon, my family and me were in a serious economic situation. It was so exasperating I couldn’t tolerate my father worried all the time and my mother trying to solve it. I had to take care of my sister but one day a wise person told me “Rely on God and He will please the wishes of your heart.” I said it and practiced like a mantra, many times until our situation improved. And I can prove now that it is really truth.
The inspirational quotation that my parents tought me was "Man proposes, but God disposes"... and I think that this thought is true. Anyone can say that will do something without God is not present in your life. I remember when I dipose to enter in the University of Panama, I wanted to study Medical Technologist in this college, but I leave in the position 69, and then I come back to Santiago very sad and frustated because I didn't enter in this college. So, I told to my mother that I will study Biology in the CRUV in Santiago, but she told me "OK". Suddenly, one day my parents watched on the TV a commercial about the Latina University and thier new carrers, and they offer the Medical Technologist Degree, then my mother told me "Ondra,you will go to study your carrer to Panama"....and here I am....I am Medical Technologist because God disposes that it happened...Thanks God....

When my mother was alive, always she said me: If you believe in god, anything can be against you!!!
I think that it is true, because when I have a trouble and when I'm very sad, I think in my God, I talk with him, and He help me.
You must believe in God, because he is all in your life.
He can do wonderfull things in your life, only you have to open your heart him.
