The biggest misunderstanding you've ever had...

Hello Everyone!
Taking advantage of the misunderstanding we had last class, I decided to use it as our week journal prompt.
The biggest misunderstanding I have ever had... well let me think... it was in high school. My best friend and I, for no reason, had a disagreement about something, but the situation grew out of proportion due to a misunderstanding about a project we had to do for our art class. If I look back in time now, I can tell you that it was just a silly thing, but we didn't talk to each other for almost a year, and we were in the same classroom. Can you imagine? She was my "confidante", my study buddy, and then I found myself alone.
I really don't remember who took the first step, but we start talking to each other in tweltfh grade. Things went back to normal again, we even went to college together, she studied geography and I studied, English (as you know) ;) , but we shared the same class during the first year, and during the two years of the "diversificada". We are still friends, and I am the godmother of her only daughter.
Sometimes the little things turn into the biggest of misunderstandings, but we have to find ways to talk things out.
What about you? Any misunderstanding that you can remember?

  1. THE MISUNDERSTANDING OF MY VACATIONS.....
The last year,my boss told me that I took vacations from July 24th until August 24th. Well, when we go to vacations we have to wait a resolution and after the boss had a letter describing the dates for notifying to employee.
I remember when my boss gave me a letter that say: "you will take the vacations from July 24 until August 23....." Can you guess? I went on vacations from July 24 but I returned one day before...When I arrived to the lad, the secretary say me: "Mrs. Blanche what are you doing here?" I was super-atonished because I went to work very happy....well I answered to the secretary: Why do you ask me that? and she told me "Mrs. Blanche, you must go to in tomorrow" and I said "Oh no, but the letter indicated this dates..." and I counted the days one by one and it was true, I went to work the last one day of my vacations, but I told to my boss that the next time counted better the days of vacations, because it had happened a misunderstanding.
AHHH you don't think that I stayed there, I leave the lab at 8:00 am and I went to my house, because I had that enjoy my last day on vacation with my family...Recently, this had been my great misunderstanding because I almost sacrified a last one day of my vacations and this days are sacred for me...

  2. OMG, One of My Misunderstanding was when I was 18 years old, in Spanish Subject, as every teacher has to make a Final Project to the final Exam, I started to do it. (I Hate Spanish Subject, I prefer Japanese) My professor said, everybody has to bring it to me before November 28th, but I didn't hear that, I thought, "December 28th, well I have a lot of time to do it. :D, the professor didn't come anymore 'cause she was in a Seminar, Finally, time to get my diploma, but the professor said, "Miguel was the only one that didn't pass my Subject" lol, I said till everything that my teacher will die. Gosh, Well it was 50% of my grade year. I had to do a rehabilitation, but I passed. I said, Spanish to "#$%%&/&%$# :D I'm just kidding.

  3. Well, about the misunderstanding we had last class I can say "I'm a lucky girl" ;D because I was sick and I didn't go to classes that day.
mmmmmm the biggest misunderstanding of my live was when I finished my English Technical Career at National University and I was so excited because I wanted get my diploma, so I decided travel to National University in Panama City. I needed to be there before 8:00 am. in order to get a meeting at 2:30 p.m there I had to up and down a lot of stairs looking for documents and signatures. Finally a secretary told me "You need a signature from "X" person who is in a "Y" building (far away), but it's 3:30 and we closed at 4:00 pm."" Can you imagine? I started running because I had to come back to Santiago. But guess what? I was confused, I went to another place, I misunderstood her directions, and the person who was there told me "isn't here, Is in the other building but it's 4:55 and we are leaving. Oh My God I wanted cry, I came back to Santiago and I traveled again two days after ;(

  4. Ahhh *sighs* I'm loving this whole Blog thing... Regardless of the sort of misunderstandings in our class last week, and the fact that it's taking me long to come up with the misunderstanding that will lead my post... It's cool to have the opportunity to share in a space like this. As for me, and being the new student, it's a great way to get to know you guys a lil bit :-)

@ Veronica: I totally feel you he he; although I haven't been in that situation before, but I have heard of your story in some many people's voices. I had friends getting me that same appointment twice already but I'm always busy so I've missed the so called Final Revision meeting both times.
@ Miguel: way to go dude! I mean, good thing you approved, it wouldn't have been nice failing an examination session when commencement is right by the corner and knowing, from first hand and personal experience, that being a student at the Normal school is struggle from beginning to the end.

  6. The biggest misunderstanding I´ve ever had

One day, I was talking with a classmate, and I was talking about another girl, and I said: "She has an ugly smile", but when I said that I was lookig to another girl, and although it was a secret, I felt she heard. I felt very embarrased and until today, I believe she thought it was about her.

  7. If I were to describe myself in one paragraph...

I describe myself as a polite person, very generous, and very tolerant.
I am not exigent with my purposes, but when I fulfll my objectives, I feel very proud about myself.
The only thing I don´t like about m is that I´m unpatient.
I am a dreamer, but I´m realistic too.
I am friendly, but I´m also serious

  8. The last year when I was working in Penonome; I had to publish my students grades in the MEDUCA sites. The principal told me that I had to go to the Rubén Dario Carles School and did my work but the other teacher also had did the same there. I traveled that Thursday in the afternoon to Santiago. Then the misunderstanding was that He told me a mistaken address but he doesn't realize that. The next day, I traveled from Santiago to Penonome very early because I had to arrive at 8:00 a.m; always I tried to arrive on time. I arrived at the School at 7:30 a.m but nobody had to arrive. I went to the cafeteria and had breakfast while I was waiting the other. I can't belived that was 8:30 a.m and nobody arrived there and I can't started with my work because the principal had the password and I don't have any phone or cellphone number. I waited until 12:30 p.m but nobody arrived and I was thinking what happened with them? Why nobody called me? I can't understand but I had to returned to Santiago because I had class at the University. Then they was waiting for me at the Penonome MEDUCA building and they was worried for me because they believed that I happened something.

  10. My biggest misunderstanding and the funniest one happened recently… I used to be a part-time intern at a private English Institute just months ago. Since I was in charge of the Human Resources department, I got to hire people, take decisions, and tell the employees when they were not giving their best. Most of the times, that made people get green with envy or even worse, hate you. Therefore, there was this time when I had to interview a teacher for a new job position. Of course, everything was said in English. However, for weird this might sound, every time I would ask the applicant whether she had a doubt or something to add, she would nod with her head. I thought that maybe she was shy or a bit nervous. All of a sudden, my boss calls to remind me of the interview, --I got this, I said; so he added he thought the applicant would be a good asset for the company and I just had to tell her she was hired. They were work peers so I assumed he knew her well enough to say that and I told her she was hired. A week after, ten students would start their Grammar class. Nevertheless, what a surprise I was going to have when the person I thought was my boss’s colleague happened to be someone who randomly appeared at my office looking for a job. How did I know? Well my boss called to ask me, on my day off, if I could go interview his friend [a week after I supposedly interviewed her] because she could not make it the day she had to. I did not tell my boss I hired somebody else by mistake. However, I am not very good at dealing with guilt. Sooner than later, I found myself giggling and telling my supervisor about it, of course she told my boss. Lucky me, my boss, and I are one of a kind people, we laugh at problems. He thought it was funny so I did not get in trouble. Now you may wonder who was that person I interviewed… She was a new student; her English was not good yet, so that she thought I was explaining her about the classes and stuff. Now she is my friend and even today, we laugh at that misunderstanding. Boss included. =)

  12. Remembering my biggest misunderstanding is something tragic for me.
I am a Pre-K teacher. I work at a prestigious bilingual school. So one day a student’s mother called me because she needed to talk with me. So in that moment I stayed fearful because she is a special mom, she is so strict, she has angry face all the time. I asked what happens now?. So she got an appointment with the principal and me. In that meeting she told me that she was going to lawsuit me because I had written on her daughter’ communication notebook that she was retarded. I said: noo!!! You misunderstood! .I just wanted to say that the girl needed to practice some letters of the alphabet, just that. It seems that I got confused when looking for the correct word in the dictionary. So I apologized, then the mother told me next time be more specific.

  14. hello my dears.
I remember that, when I was 15 years old, I had a bestfriend at the high school. Her name is Zuleila.
Well, one day I was with other friends, and one girl said ugly things about Zuleila.
I was very angry with this girl and I said her: don't say that about my friend.
The trouble was that this girl said to Zuleila that I was saying terrible things about her, and this was a lie.
My bestfriend was angry with me, and she stop speaking me.
I tried to explain her, but she doesn't believe me.
